Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

A specific type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that has been known to be effective in treating PTSD. This is typically used as a short-term treatment, conducted over a course of 12-24 sessions. In CPT, it is my responsibility to guide you through evaluation of your thoughts surrounding the traumatic event - with an emphasis on maladaptive and self-blaming thoughts. This form of treatment requires a strong dedication to self-reflection at home through weekly homework.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

This specific form of therapy addresses the mental health concerns of adolescents and families have are suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma - specifically PTSD, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and domestic violence. Due to the client typically being a child in this form of therapy, TF-CBT brings non-offending caregivers into treatment for restoration and safety.

This is a form of play therapy that when combined with talk therapy, can reflect your inner thoughts, struggles, and concerns. While typically used with younger children and teens, sand play therapy has proven beneficial for adults who have experienced complex trauma.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

This approach to psychotherapy identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities within each person's mental system. We will focus on exploration of wounded parts and painful emotions that attempt to both control and protect you. You will find that these parts are often in conflict with each other, causing anxiety, emotional pain points, and distress. Together we will focus on healing the wounded parts and restoring mental balance while resolving the discord among parts and sense of self.
