Healing is not about becoming someone new; it's about reconnecting with who you've always been

Hi you.
My roots trace back to a quiet town in Southern Illinois, where my days were filled with wind in my hair, chasing golden sunsets, and breathing in the scent of farmland and cornfields. Those moments = simple, grounding, and expansive = became the foundation for the kind of peace and belonging I now hope to offer clients.

When I founded Hopeful Hues Counseling, I was stepping into a dream I first carried as a young teenager: to create a space that feels safe, affirming, and deeply connected - just like those warm country nights under the stars once did for me.

I traded starry skies for city lights when I left my small town to follow that dream. After years of education, training, and hands-on clinical experience, I earned my credentials as a Licensed Social Worker.

Now I'm here - with you. And let me tell you, I couldn't be more honored or excited to walk this journey beside you.

As a licensed social worker, I specialize in working with first responders, teens, and young adult - especially those navigating the complex journey through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the people I work with feel stuck between "holding it together" on the outside and carrying deep, unspoken pain on the inside. My job is to help you bridge that gap - to find clarify, connection, and renewed sense of peace within yourself.

Therapy with me isn't about "fixing" you. Because here's the thing (in case someone has told you otherwise), you aren't broken and don't need to be fixed. Therapy with me is about helping you reclaim your story, your voice, and your strength in a way that feels grounded and authentic. I combine evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Processing Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a deeply human, relational style. Sessions are meant to be collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs.

Whether you are showing up with years of hidden pain or just beginning to feel like something needs to change, you're welcome here - exactly as you are.

What I Believe
-
Healing in possible - even when it feels out of reach.
-
Your story matters, and you don't deserve to tell it in your own time and in your own way.
-
Therapy should feel like exhaling after holding your breath for too long.
-
You are the expert of your own experience; I'm here to walk alongside you, not ahead of you.
-
Growth doesn't always look like progress - and that's okay.
-
Who you are is NOT a problem to be fixed.
-
You are allowed to take up space, speak your truth, and be fully seen.
-
Every person deserves to be met with dignity, empathy, and care.
-
You can hold both grief and hope at the same time.
-
Rest is not laziness. Slowness is not failure.
-
You are not alone, even if it has felt that way for a long time.
-
There is no "right" way to heal - only your way.
If you don't believe these are possible for you, let's work together so we can create a new path forward.
